In-Edit 2008: Let’s go dance on the movies
From today to november 2nd, for the sixth year in a row, In-Edit Beefeater festival 2008 edition, is turning Barcelona onto the very only city in the world where music lovers can dance in the theaters while they’re watching a documentary. It ’s actually a very weird feeling when you’re stting in front of a screen where some delicious documentary is being shown for your plessure and not to be able to stop your feet moving.
I felt that on 2006 with Awesome, I fucking shot that, the film shooted by a bunch of Beastie Boys fans during a NYC show, but also with Standing in the shadows of Motown, and repeated last year watching George Clinton: Tales of Dr. Funkestein and of course Blondie: one way or antoher, to name just a few of the last featured films.

The line up this year includes artists like Joy Division, Nina Simone, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers and Gorillaz. Other movies set their eye on particular music scenes like The Punk in London, The Beatles in USA or the awaited Heavy Metal in Bagdhad, that records how a bunch of irak kids have decided to not to fear the war and the serious territorial problems by playing what they like the most. playing heavy metal.
Of course there is a special place on this blog for Gonzo: the life and work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson. The second documentary about the Gonzo universe, released just some weeks ago on Sitges Festival.
